To the right is seen the bridge that carried the main line of the Cornwallis Valley Railway over the Cornwallis River.  The CVR ran from Kentville through Centreville and Canning to Kingsport.

A railway roundhouse always has a special feature, the rails in the floor that define the individual stalls.  When the Kentville roundhouse was demolished, while the roof and walls were torn down and the rubble was removed, for a short time the concrete floor slab was left in place.  The floor slab – and the special radial layout of these embedded rails – could now be seen in a way never before possible.  This view has been marked with yellow lines to identify the rails that are visible in the large view above.  With careful inspection, the rails for six of the ten stalls can be seen, and in this image are marked with yellow lines drawn close beside their locations.
