Dominion Atlantic Railway Bear River Bridge
22 March 2012 11:37am ADT
This big A-frame, seen here at the Digby wharf where it is installed
on one of the bridge demolition contractor's barges, will be used
to lift the steel spans from the Bear River railway bridge.
The time is about 1½ hours before high tide.
The cannon in the foreground is one of the historic cast-iron cannons
on public view at Loyalist Park in downtown Digby. This cannon was
manufactured in 1844 for the British government. It can be identified
by its weight, marked by the manufacturer as “43-2-14”.
