The tugboat Lina has returned and has been tied to the far side of the barge,
where it is being used as an access platform for a welder working on one of
the strut legs. This photograph shows a shower of incandescent sparks from
his oxygen-acetylene cutting torch. The barge has been held in this fixed position
for several hours, against the strong upstream tidal current, by the three extended
strut legs. The strut legs are now near their full extension downward,
with barely one metre (three feet) of available travel remaining.
The rising water has another hour before it reaches high tide.
